Clinician FAQs

The following are some of the questions clinicians frequently ask. If you have a question that is not here, please email us.

What is the difference between the O2Vent and the Oventus Clearway Device?

Oventus Pty Ltd has launched a global company initiative to unify the brand identity across its ranges of products. As part of this process, from May 2016 the Oventus Clearway Device is now rebranded to O2Vent Mono. This change will be reflected on device packaging, labelling and promotional materials. The O2Vent Mono is still manufactured to the same high quality, but now with a new name.

What is the regulatory status of O2Vent?

The O2VentTM devices are included in the ARTG (Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods), O2VentTM Mono – ARTG 230890 and O2VentTM T – ARTG 275667.

Who can become an Oventus Clinician?

If you are a sleep physician, sleep technician, medical specialist, dentist, GP or pharmacist, you can train to become an Oventus Clinician. Induction training is conducted more regularly as the O2Vent becomes more well-known in the clinical community.

What training do I need to undertake?

Oventus Induction Training is a two-day course that provides clinicians with the knowledge and skills to integrate dental sleep medicine into your practice and will qualify you to be an Oventus Clinician. It will teach you how to:

  • Use the online portal platform
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans simply and effectively
  • Treat and follow up patients automatically and
  • Comply with the AADSM guidelines for dental sleep medicine.

Why should I offer this as an additional service to my patients?

The O2Vent is the world’s first and only treatment for sleep-disordered breathing that allows air to flow through to the back of the throat and bypasses nasal and soft palate obstructions and prevents tongue obstruction. It is a comfortable, custom-made oral device to treat even people with nasal obstruction.

Becoming an Oventus Clinician enables you to provide the O2Vent to patients and there are only a limited number of trained clinicians available across Australia.

What support does Oventus provide?

At the Oventus Clinician induction training, you will receive support material including technical guides and a marketing support pack.

After the training, Oventus provides clinicians full technical support and ongoing marketing support.  As a part of the Clinician network, you will be referred new patients who have been pre-screened and are ready to be fitted with their O2Vent
